Nicolas Springael was born in Brussels in 1965.
His first black and white photographs were primarily a reflection of his meeting with others. For Nicolas, photography is a way of seeing and sharing everyday experiences. It is also a respectful and silent dialogue with life that holds many surprises and detours. As you can discover in his book on India "India, A Spiritual Journey" published in 2010.
In recent years, and without denying his first orientation, it is in natural landscapes and large wilderness that Nicolas found a new source of inspiration. He has focused mainly on parts of Africa; in Namibia, Tanzania, Botswana and Kenya, attracted since childhood by the idea of one day photographing elephants.
In opposition to the "warm" regions, he immerses himself as soon as he can in the cold Nordic lands of Norway, Spitzberg and Iceland, always looking for new emotions.
